Comparing Democratic Systems

A. How do the two systems of Democracy differ as far as branches of government are
concerned? --They differ in ways because in the United States government they have elections every four
years and in a Parliamentary they can hold elections whenever they feel that it is necessary.
Also the United States has a President and a Parliament has a Prime Minister.

Regarding elections" how do the systems compare? --In a Parliament elections need to be held at least once every 5 years and they are chosen
from members of the legislature. In the US elections are held every four years and are
chosen by the people when they vote.

Do their Leaders share similar terms in office? Explain in complete sentence format.--No, The President is chief executive and he is also the head of state, he also has the power
to veto and deals with foreign affairs, which means he has the power to deploy troops. In
the Parliament the head of state and chief executive are two different offices. The Prime
Minister is also known s the chief exe. and has most of the power. If they cannot come to an
agreement they will vote on it.

What are the advantages of each system and government?--Parliament...


It is faster and easier to pass legislation and more power is divided
Presidential System...
The President is elected directly by the people to the terms that they want, The President
has the power to veto laws and send out troops when necessary

All of the power is given to one person and sometimes that can cause a debate.
Parliament...
The leader is chosen by a group of legislatures not by the people, which is upsetting
to some.
