To Whom it May Concern,

I am writing this letter to recommend Kimberly Edmondson for employment in Fairfax
County Public Schools. Kimberly was my student teacher in my third grade class for the first
eight-week block of student teaching during the 2014-15 school year at Oak Hill Elementary.
Kimberly was an excellent student teacher. She is extremely professional and demonstrates
a high level of commitment to the students and to her role as student teacher. She
continues to substitute for many teachers at Oak Hill while on breaks from James Madison
University.

Kimberly came well-prepared for her student teaching experience. Her knowledge of the
third grade curriculum was evident. She plans appropriate and differentiated lessons for the
students. She often created new lessons using technology tools such as PowerPoint
presentations and Jeopardy review games. It was evident that she spent time reading and
planning on her own time away from school. Kimberly demonstrated enthusiasm and a
great work ethic.

Ms. Edmondson plans well and keeps the student learning as her main objective. She was
always focused on the end result, what students need to learn, and starts there as she works
on her lesson plans. Her lesson plans were always well-thought out. She tackled many
subjects for her university supervisors observations. Kimberly is reflective of her teaching
and tries new strategies to discover what will work best for her. She is always interested in
learning more and put forth a lot of effort to get as much out of her student teaching
experience as possible.

Kimberly is positive and easy to work with. She got along with the team and we enjoyed
having her work with us. She collaborated with us all and contributed great ideas as well
as taking advantage of learning from us. I would love the opportunity to work on the same
team with her one day. The students also loved working with Ms. Edmondson. She cares
about them and works hard to meet their needs. She has been missed since she left third
grade to go to her next student teaching placement. She plans to substitute for me in the
spring after she graduates from JMU. Wherever she decides to accept a teaching position,
she will do an outstanding job and be an asset to her school and grade level team.

Should you desire further information, please contact me at Oak Hill Elementary School.
Respectfully submitted,
Stacy Muscar
