My Memory Coat
In the book The Memory Coat by Elvira Woodruff, Grisha
has an attachment with his wool coat that reminds him of
his mother. Your task is to create your own memory coat
using drawings, magazine clippings, and other materials
provided to attach to the coat on the back of this
worksheet that represent what is special to you.
Ask yourself these questions:
What is my familys cultural heritage, and why is it
special to me?
If I was forced leave most of my belonging behind to
move to a new place, what could I absolutely not live
without?
What do I love the most about my family?

When you have finished your memory coat, share your
