Evaluating Group Presentations :

1. Content :
Did the group communicate an understandable amount of information about the topic
without overwhelming the audience with excessive detail?
Yes, the presenters of the group communicate an understandable amount of information
regarding the topic chosen. We included all themain points and information that we wanted
to deliver to the audience into our PowerPoint slides. The information included was not
lengthy as we only included the keywords in our slides and delivered the main ideas. This is
so that the presentation looks more interesting and grabs the audiences attention.
Did the group use a variety of supporting materials to develop their main points?
Yes, the presenters of the group had used a variety of supporting materials to develop our
main points. First, the supporting details that we gave really matched the topic we chose.
This is to avoid confusion of the audience while listening to the presentation. Next, we had
even included the drawings and pictures of our product that we wanted to persuade the
audience in the slides. This is to aid the understandings of the audience regarding our
product. In this case, the presenters can persuade the audience easier because the
audience will have a basic image of how the product looks like.
Was the supporting material relevant?
Yes. The supporting material used in the slides was relevant to the topic. All of the
supporting sentences were accurate and relevant. Plus, we had showed to the audience the
design of our product that we wanted to present about.
Did the group members appear conversant with and knowledgeable about the
subjects presented?
Yes, our group members appeared conversant with the subjects presented by us. The
presenters were knowledgeable about our subjects because we did not refer to the slides
when we present and we did not forget our points. This is because we were well-prepared
before we did our presentation. We make sure that all of the group members know their
points well before we started our presentation. We also know our topic well so that we can
talk about it without further doubts.
Did the group fulfill time expectations?
Yes. The group did fulfill the time expectations. Our group members finished our whole
presentation within the time given. This is because we were familiar with the content we
were presenting and we even did a simple rehearsal before our turn.

2. Organization :
Did the group have an effective plan for the whole presentation?
Yes. Our group had meeting for many times before we did our respective tasks. So, we can
perform well in this presentation. Our leader, Huang Ing and the assistants, Wong Ying Siew
and Grace Mah Jen guided us a lot when we faced problems.Besides, we also arrived well
ahead of time to set up and test the equipment before our presentation. We did this in order
to not waste any of the audiences precious time. We prepared the equipment before any of
them arrive.
Did the presentation have a clear introduction, body and conclusion?
Our presentation has a clear introduction, body and conclusion. Our leader explained the
tasksto us very clearly so that we could understand the tasks clearly before we did it. Our
group members know clearly how a presentation should look like. Wefollowed the formal
organization of a presentation and so we included clear and precise introduction, body and
conclusion.
Did the presenters stick to their designated topic?
Yes. Every presenterstick to our designated topic as the presentation was related to the
topic chosen. For example, our topic was about waterproof clothes and each of the group
members stated the main points of our waterproof clothes clearly. We even showed to the
audience the design of our product in the slides.
Did each group member develop their part of the presentation in an orderly fashion?
Every group member developed their part of the presentation nicely and did it very well. We
cooperated with each other and so the presentation was delivered in an orderly manner.
Were transitions between sections and presenters effective?
The transitions were effective. All of our presenters followed the instruction and did not goout
of the topic. Our presentation was coherent and we showed our main purpose of this
persuasive presentation successfully.

3. Oral communication :
Did presenters speak from brief notes rather than from complete texts?
Yes, the presenters did not read directly from the complete texts. This is because weknew
how to commit the main points to our own words. We spent some times to think about the
ways to deliver our points so that the audience can understand clearly.
Did presenters speak audibly and energetically?
Yes, the presenters spoke audibly and energetically.This is because we had enough
confidence to speak in front of the audience and we did not feel shy. Due to our sufficient

confidence, we also did not afraid that the audience will laugh at us. We just tried our best in
our presentation.
Did presenters avoid physical and vocal distractions while speaking?
Yes, the presenters did prevent the physical and vocal distractions such as chairs and the
system sound of the laptop we were using during our presentation. This is to improve
concentration during presentation. We also changed the mode of our mobile phones to silent
mode before presentation so that the phones would notring and disturb the presenters as
well as the audience during our presentation.
Did the group appear interested in, and committed to, the audience?
Our group did appear interested in and committed to the audience. This is because the
presentation was interesting and we tend to attract the attention of the audience. Meanwhile,
our group members also appeared to be committed and we were full of passion to present.
Did the group try to be creative in their approach to the topic (by using visual aids,
demonstrations, simulations, etc)?
Yes, our group tried to be creative in our approach to the topic by using many visual aids in
our slides. We fully utilized our slides by including various pictures and drawings of our
waterproof clothing. We cared about the audiences feelings and interest, so we put in a lot
of effort in our presentation to gain audiences attention. We fully utilized our creativity in our
presentation.
Did the presenters speak in a clear voice that could easily be heard by everyone in
the audience?
Yes, every presenter spoke in a clear voice that could easily be heard by everyone in the
audience. All the presenters in our group presented with a good pronunciationfor the words
in the slides. This will lead to a better understanding of the audience.

We did change our volume, pace and inflection appropriately to maintain audience attention.
The presenters did not use monotonous voice to present. This meant we presented using
appropriate intonation and we also spoke with a steady speed.We paused whenever it was
appropriate in our presentation.

4. Non-verbal communication :
Did the presenters develop eye contact with members of the audience?
Yes, we did develop eye contact with members of the audience. We focused on our
presentation and we had eye contact with the audience almost all the time when wewere
presenting in front of our audience. This will make the audience feel that they are being

respected and that they are important to the presenters. Therefore, the audience will not feel
boring or being ignored and thus show interest towards the presentation.
Hand and body movements are purposeful, not distracting.
Our presenters used appropriate body movements which are purposeful. We also used
purposeful hand gestures that would aid in our delivery of our presentation. However, we did
not show too much body movements or hand gestures that would seem distracting.
Presenters do not read exclusively from note cards or visual aids.
Allof our presenters did not read directly from our note cards or PowerPoint slides. This
showed that we were well-prepared for our presentation and weput in a lot of effort in the
preparation of the presentation. Presenters need to show to the audience that they know
what they are talking about and look confident during presentation.

All of our presenters facedthe audience while presenting. Wethink that this is an important
way to make eye contact with the audience and show respect to them.Besides, this isto let
the audience feel that we are communicating directly to them and makes the audience to
pay full attention us.

Our presenters showedappropriate facial expressions during our presentation. This is to
express our emotion and ideas more efficiently. Furthermore, this can also attract the
audiences attention and make the presentation more interesting.

5. Group Coordination :
The presentation was integrated; did not look like a sequence of unique individual
presentations.
The presentation was integrated because all the members worked together as a team and
we did own parts very well. We cooperated with each other to get the best outcomes. So, it
did not look like individual presentations among us. Instead, it showed good team work
among us.
Transitions between speakers were handled effectively; there was no indecision or
dead air.

of the role of presenters wasin proper order too. All of our presenters knew our turns and

presentation to clearly distribute our parts to present in order to avoid confusion.

points. Instead, we cooperated with each other during our turns to present.There was a pair
of presenters in our group in which the two presenters presented together for their points.
They helped each other in the presentation and it had showed how important cooperation
between partners is. We knew each others points before the presentation, so we did not
feel confused with our points. We also knew our turns to talk well before the presentation.
This is to avoid situations like arguing for the turns to present during the presentation.

not use rude words during our presentation. This is because it will give a bad impression to
the audience and it will also show unrespect towards the audience. Instead, our presenters

session. This will help to get the attention and know the opinions from the audience.

6. Visual aids :
Visual aids are constructed of sufficient size and are displayed so they can see
clearly by all members of the audience.
All of the visual aids that weused in our presentation slides were in sufficient sizes. So, the
audience could view the pictures or graphics clearly. This is to let the audience to have a
clearer look on our designs of the waterproof clothing.
When appropriate graphics, animation and color are used effectively to enhance the
intended message.

The elements were used appropriately, so we managed to enhance the intended message
throughout our presentation. For example, we showed our drawings of our waterproof
clothing in our slides during our presentation. This will lead the presentation to be more

As being mentioned above, we had incorporated various visual aids in our slides. The visual

appropriate and perfectly matched our topic. This is so that the audience can understand
the topic better.

the audience before our presentation started. Besides, the PowerPoint slides in our
presentation were simple and easy to understand. Moreover, the pictures used to design the
slides were very pretty and amazing. The graphics used were relevant to our topic. The
words could be seen clearly from the slides. The number of visual aids used in the
presentation was enough to grab audiences attention. Therefore, our presentation really
caught the attention of the audience.

the audience our ideas and designs of the waterproof clothes, we showed them the pictures

attracted to our product. As the saying goes a picture says a million words.
