| will be conducting individual and group counseling with students on an as-needed basis throughout the
school year at FIREEIElementary. These sessions can last from 3 to 6 weeks, based on need. An
assessment will be given to determine if your student needs further support.
‘The goal of individual and group counseling is to support your student on their academic journey at
school. The student may be experiencing social, emctional, physical, or behavioral concerns that hinder
their academic success. General goals for our meetings may include assessment and clarification of
student behavior and feelings, improving interpersonal, coping, and communications skills, as well as
strategies to thrive at school and at home
Some general themes | deal with in school counseling are study skills, health development, self-esteem,
bullying, divorce, grief and loss, attention, social skills, and friendship building skills just to name a few.
‘The counseling will be centered on what is most affecting your student in the present moment.
