Network Analysis Using ArcGIS
Exercise 1: Reassign Market Areas

Objective: In my map I located six eateries within Stocktons campus (the yellow stars). I used the
eateries as my facilities in the location analysis. My objective was to find out which eateries were the
most accessible (have the most demand) to certain areas around the campus. Therefore, I used the
Stocktons network junctions as my demand points because they are located all over. By looking at this
map and the attribute table of my facilities I came to the conclusion that the Lakeside Lodge (northern
part of the map) has the most demand. This makes sense because it have less competition since it is
separated from the other eateries.

Exercise 2: Make Routes for a Fleet

Objective: In my map I located the outdoor athletic facilities on Stocktons Campus. My objective was
to find the best route from location 1, the track/soccer field, to location 15, the intramural field. I was
able to figure this out by using the make route layer tool. I performed this analysis because I think it
would be very helpful if someone wanted to take a tour of the facilities.
