Objective: To find the most suitable location for a landfill in Atlantic County.
Scenario:
1) Must be within a half mile of a road (black)
- Easy access/less development
2) Must be IN an area of barren land
- Less environmental impacts and not disturbing other land uses
3) Must be 1.5 miles from a daycare facility (yellow)
- Not appealing for parents to send their kids to daycares too close to landfills, also it may
not be safe
4) Must be a half mile from any stream (blue)
- Helps prevent any surface water contamination
Result: The areas that are most suitable to put a landfill are represented in red.
