I. Objectives:
The children will identify how many leafs should go on each tree by using
expressive language skills.

The children will participate in identifying and reciting the numbers on the
trees and matching the same number of leafs to the number on each tree.

The children will tree engage in cooperation by putting all the right number of
leafs on each tree with their peers.

II. Materials:
Pre made File folder game Fall Leaf Math Activity
21 Fall Leafs ( 7 red,7 yellow,7 orange )
III. Procedure:
A. Motivation
1. I will ask the children what we are talking about this week.
2. I will show the children the outside of the file folder.
3. I will ask the children to join me in doing the leaf activity.
B. Steps
1. I will ask the children what we are talking about this week.
2. When the children respond, I will show them the outside of the file
folder.
3. I will I ask the children to join me in doing the leaf activity.
4. I will give the children directions that, one by one, each child has to
take a turn in putting the amount of Leafs on a tree that matches
the number on the tree.
5. I will let the children first try on their own to match up the number of
leafs to the number on the tree.
6. I will assist those who need help identifying numbers and how
many to lie down.
IV. Conclusion:
I will have the children count how many leafs there are all together.
V. Transition:
I will instruct the children to act like leafs to their next center or activity.
VI. Follow-Up Activities/Learning Centers:
1. Place the file folder in circle time for the children to play with on their own time.
2. Place actual leafs in the sensory table for the children to discover and feel.
3. Put leaf pictures in the math center for the children to count.
VII. Evaluation/Assessment:
