1. Four Sources of Law

Constitution Law is the branch of law that is based on the constitution for a
particular level of government. Is a body of principles that established the
structure of a government and the relationship of that government to the
people who are governed.
Statutory law Includes legislative acts. Both Congress and the state
legislatures enact statutory law.
Administrative regulations are rules promulgated by state and federal
administrative agencies, such as the Security and Exchange Commission and
the National Labor Relations Board.
Case Law Law that includes principles that are expressed for the first time
in court decisions.

2. Substantive vs Procedural
Substantive Law The law that defines rights and liabilities
Procedural Law The law that must be followed in enforcing rights and
liabilities.
