According to the first Amendment, the government believes

that it must stay neutral about religion. Many think that

separation of church and state is needed.
The First Amendment allows citizens the freedom to practice
any religion of their choice. It also prevents the government
from officially recognizing or favoring any religion.
I dont believe the language in our money In God We Trust
is not a violation of the first amendment. Its not specifying
which God or a religion. In America many people worship
different gods and have many religions. Also money is not
displayed to the public like propaganda. We carry it in our
pockets or purses. Money is constantly being exchanged
among people, without paying too much attention to what is
written on it. Instead the people focus on the value of it,
whether it is a $20, $50 or $100 dollar bill. Furthermore, the
people pay more attention to whether its real or counterfeit
money. Also a religion is not being pushed on the people.
The pledge of allegiance doesnt violate the first amendment
either because in it the people are stating their allegiance to
the country (the United States of America) not to a God.
Besides you are not forced to recite the Pledge at schools,
its voluntarily. Therefore you are not being forced into any
God or religion.
