August 2007 Present:


o Director of Programming: Responsible for overseeing the care and
planning for the 30 foster children living at the School. Write caseplans for
youth in care. Work closely with the Executive Director and other
administrators to ensure the caseplans are carried out correctly for the
youth in care. Coordinate with cottage supervisors and plan in the
childrens best interests with childrens social workers, state agency
representatives, youths family, court-appointed advocates, and other
important parties.
September 2002 August 2007:
o Independent Living Program Manager: Created and implemented a
county-wide program to help foster youth ages 16 to 21 plan for the
future. Wrote individual caseplans for each youth. Taught life skills such as
money management, college planning, job skills, and cooking. Supervised
several paid and volunteer mentors who helped the youth learn life skills
through individual mentoring and group sessions. Assessed youth at their
foster homes to determine eligibility for the program, their skill levels, and
foster parents level of commitment.
June 2001 September 2002:
o Cottage Supervisor: acted as liaison between school administration and
resident cottages, to implement caseplans for youth. Built relationships
with youth in care and houseparents (direct care workers). Scheduled
houseparents for work shifts. investigated and addressed grievances from
youth in care. coordinated appointments for youth with counselors,
doctors, tutors, social workers, etc. met with important players in the
youths life (family, court appointed advocates, social workers, probation
officers, teachers, etc.) to plan toward the youths best interests.
June 1998 June 2001:
o Houseparent: Worked directly with the youth in care at the group foster
home. Supervised the youth during indoor and outdoor activities, both on

grounds and off. Supported youth by attending their sporting events,


school band concerts, graduations, etc. Maintained contact with youths
teachers and supported their educational needs. Administered discipline
as necessary, in accordance with School policies and procedures. Taught
social skills and self-control. assessed youths behaviors and provided
feedback to youth counselors, therapists, and other mental health
professionals.
