The invention of coca cola

John Pemberton was in April 1865 serving as a
lieutenant in the Confederate Armys 12th cavalry Regiment. In the battle of
Columbus, he got wounded, he got slashed across the chest by a saber and got
addicted to morphine to ease the pain. He was a pharmacist so he started to look
for a cure for his addiction. In Columbus 1866 he started working on painkillers
that would serve as opium free alternatives to morphine. The first thing he tried
was some kind of a syrup from the globe flower. After that he began to
experiment whit coca and coca wines. Eventally he had created his own version
of vin mariani which was an medical tonic, he used kola nut and damiana (An
flower) he called the drink Pembertons French Wine Coca. This was the base for
the coca cola that we drink today.
With he public concern of drug addiction, depression and alcoholism among war
veterans, Pemberton found himself forced to create a non-alcoholic version of his
French Wine coca. Pemberton relied on the expertise of the Atlanta druggist Willis
Venable to help him whit doing the recipe perfect for the beverage, which he
formulated whit trial and errors. Whit Venables assistance, Pemberton worked
out a set of directions for its preparation that eventually included blending the
base syrup whit carbonated water by accident when trying to make another glass
which found out to work great. Pemberton decided then that he wanted to sell it
as a fountain drink rather than a medicine. Frank Mason Robinson came up whit
the name coca cola since many other wine medicines had similar names at that
time.

Soon after Coca-Cola came to the market, Pemberton got sick and nearly
bankrupt. So he began to sell the rights to
his formula to his business partners in
Atlanta, his motivation to sell it was his
continuing morphine addiction. He thought
that someday the drink would become the
national drink, so he attempted to retain a
share of the ownership to his son, but
Pembertonss son wanted the money. So in
1888 Pemberton and his son sold the
meaning portion of the patent to Asa
Candler. John Pemberton died later that
year at the age of 57 by s stomach cancer.

Coca-Cola
Coca-Cola today, is one of the most popular drinks, Coca-Cola exists in like all
countries in the world. What they have done to keep this amazing drink to sell is
that they have made a lot of different sized bottles and tins. They have also
brought in some new flavors and other stuff to get more people buying their
drink, such as light, Zero, Life, Cherry flavor and Vanilla flavor etc. And the recipe
is the same since 1886.
