Jessica taught a language arts lesson on writing a friendly


letter to the principal.
Hook: She reviewed the parts of a letter that she wrote
on a big board. She also reviewed the parts of an
envelope. The students circled the different parts using a
magic marker. Each child got their own letter to write
and illustrate. She gave them a sentence starter. They
also decorated the stamp on their indiviual envelopes.
Closure: The students shared the letter they wrote with
the class.
I was very impressed that the class remembered the part
of the letter from the previous lesson.

Suggestions

Classroom management: You could use a clapping or


rhyming poem
example: 1,2, 3 look at me
