Pause after each crayon and ask how each of the crayons
might be feeling? Are they mad? Sad? Frustrated?

Tell the students that they will create a piece of artwork that

normally usual.

Tell them that they may colour with their favorite colour, but
like the crayons in the book need to be used for something
different.

Miss Walkers favorite colour is blue, but if I was going to draw

the ocean, I could use green.

Lesson

To do a cross curricular activity, we could do a poll of the class

and see what the ratio to colours are/add up the amount to
multiples of 10 until we reach the students who are in the
class.
If students are nervous to speak, Miss Walker will go up with them and
they can whisper to her what they want to say.
The student will be encouraged to speak and participate but they do
not have to if they do not want to.
Closure
Does colour always have to be used in one way? Will some things
always be one colour in nature? (Grass is green in summer and brown
in winter, snow is white, but the sky is not always blue!)

Time
3 mins

Crayons will be put away and Miss Walker will collect all of the artwork
when they are presenting. Transition into science when students are
sitting in their desks with their heads down.
