Among all the disorders, Schizophrenia is one of the most serious psychological

and misery. Schizophrenia usually begins in adolescence or early adulthood. The


symptoms of schizophrenia are categorized in two types: Negative and Positive.
Negative symptoms include social withdrawal, apathy, loss of motivation, lack of goaldirected activity, very limited speech, slow movements, poor hygiene and grooming, poor

his room mate. He gets along with him very well. His disorganized and bizarre behaviour

Another scene which shows Schizophrenic mind is the one in which, John's wife breaks a
mirror out of frustration. The next morning John is shown talking to the broken pieces of

mirror to the trash, and his face is shown in the fragments of the mirror. The symptoms of

United States. This conspiracy situation goes wrong in his head. He thinks that Russians

individual, and monitoring symptoms repeatedly can be a valuable effort to rehabilitate
them. The monitoring of symptoms can be more beneficial if the results of the checkup
are stored with the patients and patient's caregiver.

By doing so can be actively involved

in further treatment and rehabilitation.


Effectiveness of rehabilitation by psychopathology can be best evaluated if the
therapist after regularly monitoring the symptoms of the patient can determine that there
is some reduction in patient's psychological disorder symptoms .. The therapist can also

Give information to the psychiatrist about patient's medication needs. Patients can be

educated to monitor and recognize 'warning signs'; they can be encouraged to take part C~OJf

in some stress reducing activities.

~...,Inthe movie 'A Beautiful Mind' the character John Nash received medical treatment
from medical specialists, and psychopathological treatment from psychiatric practitioners
and his wife. Efforts from both fields helped him in rehabilitating back in life.

CONCLUSION
~

The movie' A Beautiful Mind ' provides an almost accurate portrayal of Paranoid
Schizophrenia. The movie shows that the people with this psychological disorder possess
the ability to be a genius to win the Noble Prize and be a historical figure after proper
treatment and rehabilitation.~
