This week in KG1

Dear Parents,
We really enjoyed our field trip to the Burj Khalifa this week and
would like to say thank you for helping us to make it possible.
This week we will look at ways that we can care for and maintain
our local environment. Reduce, Re-use, Re-cycle

Upcoming Events

We have started swimming again this term and we would like to

ask if you could please make sure all items of clothing are clearly
labelled to prevent items being misplaced.

KG1 Staff

Early Dismissal for students

Math: We will be counting and identifying numbers from
11-20 with an online story, games and centers. We will
also continue our learning of 3D shapes (cubes, spheres,
pyramids, cones, cylinders and rectangular prisms)

Language: We will be focusing on the letter sound /j/.

Suggested vocabulary: jump, jar, jam, jigsaw, jelly.
Students will be practicing isolating and identifying the
initial sounds of / j/ words as well as blending sounds in
CVC words (Consonant Vowel Consonant)
Arabic:

This week we will review all Arabic letters, colors and
shapes which covered during second term.

Our Unit of Inquiry

Sharing the Planet
Science and Language:
We will continue constructing
useful items made out of
recyclable materials for Earth
Day.
We are learning to be
responsible for our
environment and thinking of
ways we can care for and
maintain it. We will read a
story about Jet the Jelly Fish
and learn how garbage can
be harmful. We will discuss
ways we can help care for
the ocean.
Please send in a water bottle
so we can re-use them for
our Jelly Fish craft.
