A Reflective Thinker About a Reading Assignment-1-132015

Superman and Me was a very touching and uplifting story. It
really explained how segregated and discluding our society
tends to get sometimes. It gives me a feeling of both
gratefulness and shamefulness. Grateful because of the life
that I was blessed with as both of my parents have jobs so
weve always lived pretty comfortably. Shameful because of
how much I took that for granted. All throughout preschool
and elementary school either my mom or my dad would read
a book with my almost every night before I went to bed. I
never thought about the less fortunate children who could
barely even afford to have childrens books growing up. Its
inspiring to read that one very young child taught himself to
read by looking at more advanced books and even by looking
at random prints and posters that came across his path.
