Compare (eye lvl same as breast) Breast position and nipple alignment Symmetry of size, shape, contour Raise hands, raise upwards if abnormal b. Check on one breast i. Must see the lower part of breast for infection/excoriation ii. Surface changes (dimpling,ulcers, engorgement, peau d orange) iii. Nipple (retraction, ulcer, eczema) c. Palpate i. Dun use fingertips cuz may feel ribs only ii. Mass, pain, axilla (lymph nodes), discharge (press on areola) iii. Hand (edema) Description of mass 1. Number, site, size, shape, surface, skin changes, mobility (move on 2 axis on relaxation and contraction) 2. If relaxed, mass will move. If contracted, mass with move with muscle movement. 3. Pinch in 4 quadrant to c any tethering to the skin. Description of scar 1. Site, alignment, size (length and breadth), complication (healed/ hernia), keloid (only if after 6 months), infection, seroma
