was

an Iranian translator and journalist who was one of the


victims

of

the intelligence

plan

for

eliminating

the

opposition intellectuals known as Chain murders of Iran. He


was a moderate leftist political analyst and his articles
criticizing the Iranian government policies appeared in a
monthly magazine, Iran-e Farda (Iran of Tomorrow), which was closed down
by court order on December 5, 1998.
Sharif left Iran in 1984 and lived in France for 12 years. He came back to Iran
in 1995.
Death: In November 1998, Sharif left his home for a jog and never returned.

On November 18, 1998 he was found on the side of a road in Tehran and

identified by his mother in the coroner's office six days later on November

24, 1998. Based on confessions of one the agents of intelligence service, he


was killed by injections of Chloride Potassium.
