Creative way of education
"For a person to develop, he must experience the life and norms of a community. He must
also experience these events in a sequence that forms the normal pattern of development. One
particular part of the structure that aids in the development of a person is education."
Homeschooling ,as a traditional Education way,is teaching school subjects to one's children at
home. Approximately 2.2 million students are home-educated. Students homeschooled are
various from religious belief, political party. The family is varied from income and diplomas
(Brian). Homeschooled family are usually larger, and homeschooled parents generally have more
formal education. The state has the responsibility to ensure that parents provide their children
with a basic constitutionally mandated minimum education (Yurcado). Homeschooling should be
permitted because homeschooled students have an outstanding academic performance; the kids
with special will gain extra support and reassurance; homeschooling offers better social,
emotional, and psychological development.
Homeschooling is a creative and successful form of education because of its outstanding
academic performance and its unlimited opportunities in the future. Dr. Steven Duvall, director
of the School Psychology Training Program at Fort Hays State University in Kansas, did an
experiment on kids attending to either public school or homeschool. He divided the kids into two
groups with five kids each and recorded the academic engagement during the instructional
periods. When the result was out, it turned out that homeschoolers have a tremendous progress in

academics study. His study also demonstrated that for the same amount of readings, public
students take six months to complete, whereas homeschooled students only take one half months
to complete. For the written skills, public students take eight months, whereas homeschooled
students only take two and a half months. Homeschooled students score above average on
achievement tests, and colleges are increasingly recruiting them. Besides the excellent academic
performance, there are also unlimited opportunities in the future. A lot of homeschoolers become
successful after they grow up. Because they have participated more frequently in the local
community, and attend public meetings more frequently. And those social experiences help them
to better engage in the public life and to form a complete personality.
Besides the academic advantage homeschool brings, there is also extra support and
reassurance to he homeschooled kids. Especially for the children who truly need special care and
extra support, it's a good choice to attend homeschooling. The kids are always looking for
personal attention and love from their family. Parents will give extra care and respect to their
children if they are educated home. "Objective studies demonstrate that parents are providing a
superior form of education for their special needs children by teaching them home"
(Christopher). Moreover, Homeschooling gives the parents an opportunity to teach what really
matters. There is an individual teaching attention to the homeschoolers, which makes them pay
full-undivided attention. It also allows parents to find if something is going wrong with the kids
in order to help them immediately. Furthermore, any bad learning issue or behavior will be
detected and corrected as soon as possible. Students with special care don't have to live around
the school schedule. There is stability during difficult times and guarantee of the kid's safety. It's
easier for the kids to avoid problems from school, especially not bear pressure from other kids.

Furthermore, homeschoolers are more likely to engage into social life and to form a welldeveloped personality with ensured social opportunities homeschooling provides. There is a high
rate of participation in community of the homeschooled students. Homeschooled students often
engage activities outside their home. They play sports with their friends; they do community
service to help the poor; they go on field trip with their family, etc. There are opportunities to
interact with people of all ages rather than just classmates from same ages. They also vote and
attend public meetings frequently. All of those activities help the students to be more involved
into social life and form a well-developed personality.
Besides the social developments, psychological developments are also potential to the
students. According to the research, homeschoolers' peer interaction, self-concept, leadership
skills, family cohesion, and self-esteem are all typically above the average (Brian).
Homeschooled kids like to ask questions like "who am I" and " what do I really want". The
process of asking and finding their own identity really helps the kids to develop the strengths and
the resistant abilities. It also gives the kids a strong sense of themselves. Emotions could be a
serious problem for some kids; therefore, self- esteem is extremely important to build up.
Homeschooled students also dress and act as they feel like. They have the freedom to choose
what they like to learn; in that way, they will find their interests sooner and they won't be afraid
they can't fit into the real world or community (Isabel).
However, some people are arguing that homeschooling should be limited because of its
financial restraints, time restraints, limited sports, and limited social life. Learning at home
consumes lots of parents time. The parents have to give up their own time of working or
entertaining, so they wont make enough money. The time is hard to please both sides of the
family and most of the parents believe loss of income is well worth watching their kids grow and

learn in freedom (Isabel). There is also people arguing about homeschooling's lack of facility and
reduced competition. They think that homeschooled cant be as well equipped as a traditional
school and there isnt enough competition for the kids to grow. People think competitions make
the kids want to become better and those opportunities are hardly provided to homeschooled
kids. In contrast, homeschooled students have the freedom to choose what they learn. They could
always borrow professional facilities from nearby library, lab, etc. Besides, competition is not the
core to win and to be successful (Ginsburg). Homeschoolers dont have to live around the school
schedule. They could express their feelings without fear, which is the most important thing for a
kid to grow up.
Some people will also say that homeschoolers are living outside the Norm and they arent
participating into sports or the social life. However, homeschooled students do have a lot of
opportunities to interact with people. They can interact with not only the people of their ages but
also people of all ages. They could engage into the events outside their home, such as sports,
field trip, community service, etc. They deserve equal opportunities as the traditional students
and they are the ones who really participate.
In conclusion, I think homeschooling is an overall creative way of education with all its
benefits for the students and their family. The students will perform outstanding academic
performance and they will have ensured social, emotional and psychological developments.
Homeschooling helps the kids to become what they want to be and shape their personality. For
the parents, they have more time spending with their children especially with those kids who
need extra support. Homeschooling brings the kids with special care a tremendous advantage of
being confident and being proud of who they are.
