Dear Malcolm,

Well Hey. Its me! Well just in case you dont know who me is, my first name is Spencer,
my middle name is Carlyle, and my last name is Blackwell. If you put that together, what do you
get? If you said, Spencer Carlyle Blackwell, congratulations, you are smarter than a fifth
grader. I am a 6 foot and 3 inch, one hundred and thirty something pound, 19 year old, African
American male. I originate from the city of Roxboro, North Carolina (Person County); not too
far from Durham, North Carolina. However, my home is in Greensboro, North Carolina (team
336! If you take your pointer finger on both hands and put it on top of your thumbs to make an
O-shape, stick your other three fingers up and hit the two circles together repeatedly, youve
learned the Area Code 336 hand-sign.) I live with my mom, Toni Brown, and two little sisters;
Breana, who is 12, and Alyssa, who is 4 (see photos at the bottom).
I am a very spiritual individual. I am a very Christian-oriented guy. I love God, Jesus, & the
Holy Spirit. My faith and belief is what helps keep me going. It is what gives me joy and peace
in all areas of life. I enjoy praying and read the Holy Bible. A lot of my time is spent either at
church and doing something for the church. I attend New Directions Christian Fellowship
Church located in Burlington, North Carolina. My Pastor is Elder Zachary Dark.
I attended the only all-male school in North Carolina. Its called the Early/Middle College at
North Carolina Agricultural & Technological State University. Its basically high school on a
college campus. I attended this school from 9th grade all the way until graduation in the 12th
grade. Attending this school opened a lot of doors for me and I was presented many
opportunities. I got to have lunch with the Chancellor (Harold Martin), the Superintendent of
Guilford County Schools (Maurice Mo Green), and the Mayor of Greensboro (I cant

remember his name.) I was able many politicians that work in the State Capitol & Legislature,
went to basketball games and saw famous basketball players, and visited many different cities in
North Carolina. I graduated at the top of my class. Im still not sure if I was first or second in the
class. Me and the other guy, Tariq, were like a few hundredths of a point away from each other. I
graduated as a North Carolina Scholar, and a member of the National Honor Society as well as a
member of the National Technical Honor Society. I was accepted into over 20 colleges and
university and we both know where I ended up. I was a mentor to many at my school. I have
been told that I am an old man in a young mans body. I have a lot of wisdom for my age and I
am on a different intellectual level than many of my peers. I believe this is what helps me to be a
good leader and role model to others.
I believe that I am a very positive person. I try to be a light and a positive force in the lives of
others. My motto is to be the difference and make an impact in the world. I dont want to just
talk a good talk, but I want to work hard and live it out. It takes a lot for me to become upset or
angry. I am always trying to encourage and motivate others. It is my hearts desire to see the
best in the lives of others. I hold high expectations for myself and my life. I am studying
Criminal Justice. I dont know if I want to continue studying it because I have a lot of interest.
Aside of Criminal Justice I also have an interest in Mortuary Science/Funeral Home Services and
also Theology/Divinity. I want to go to Graduates school to eventually earn a Doctorates degree.
I want to get married and have TEN children (*wipes sweat off forehead*). I want my wife to
have 7 physically and we adopt the other 3. This is a good outlook on my life and who I am.

Sincerely,

Spencer.
