In accordance with Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) Code, Title 4, Chapter
17, Sections 4, an Excess Credit Fee is applied when students attending a state-supported
college or university in Nevada has attempted credits equal to or exceeding 150% of the total
credits required for completion of the student's declared certificate or degree. Excess Credit
Fees are applied to the following:
Our records indicate that you have attempted 69 credits towards. Attempted credits include all
courses on your student transcript. Repeated courses, transfer courses, audited courses and
grades of "F", "I", "P", "WT" and "W" are part of this calculation.
The Excess Credit Fee will add an additional 50% charge on your per-credit registration fee.
Your summer 2015 registration fee of $84.50 per credit will increase by $42.25 (50%of $84.50).
Your cost per credit will be $126.75 ($84.50 =$42.25) due to the excess credit fee.
The additional charge will be in effect for the current and all subsequent semesters during which
your total attempted credits are in excess of 150% of credit requirements for your chosen
major. Please note that all fees are subject to change as approved by the NSHE Board of
Regents. Students should consult the CSN website for the most current tuition and fees
at http://www.csn.edu/pages/629.asp.
1. Verify their current declared plan of study in MyCSN and review their Academic
Requirement Report. In your MyCSN Student Center, click under "Other Academics" and
select "Academic Requirements". This page will list your current declared plan in the system
and will list the course requirements missing from your current plan. If the declared plan of study
is incorrect then change your plan online via MyCSN by clicking on "My Academics" and
clicking on "Request Program/Plan Change".
