Dear Hiring Committee,
It is with great excitement that I am applying for the position of REGISTERED NURSE IV at the Lacks
Cancer Center. I currently have five years of experience on a high acuity unit, medical-surgical unit, and in
oncology. I have attained my Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing and will achieve my Bachelor of
Science degree in Nursing from Ferris State University in August 2015.
Lacks Cancer Center will benefit greatly from my knowledge about declining patients. I have cared for
declining patients and believe that the families of these patients are just as important. My compassion for the
patients and their families has assisted them in the stages of grieving. The goal is to focus on how the patient
has lived a rewarding life and create a peaceful environment for the patients last days.
I have also cared for patients who are healing. I have assisted patients and their families through
rehabilitation. Encouraging patients to have a positive outlook on the future is an important part of the process
of healing that I strongly emphasize. I believe that you have to treat the patients mind, body, and spirit. To
achieve this goal, I have worked with multidisciplinary teams including but not limited to, dietary, pharmacy,
physicians, and hospice. Great team work ensures that patients receive optimal care.
I would appreciate an interview to discuss how the Lacks Cancer Center and I can achieve our goals
