friendship and service. Boston University Zeta Upsilon Chapter was founded
in 1949 and continues to be an active group on-campus.
iBanquet stands for stands for initiation banquet, and it's an event held
at the end of each semester to celebrate newly initiated brothers, say
goodbye to the seniors, and congratulate the chapter on a great semester.
Awards are given to brothers for their commitment to the chapter and special
achievements during the semester. It is highly anticipated each semester.
Active brother Hope Gabriel, a sophomore, comments, iBanquet is definitely
a highlight of the semester. After all the hard work put in during the
semester, it is nice to unwind and celebrate all of our accomplishments.
Time and effort is put into planning this event. There is an iBanquet
committee that is established at the beginning of the semester. They meet
on a weekly basis and formulate ideas for the semesters big event. Michelle
Gribic, a member of the committee, discusses the planning process, The
committee meets on a weekly basis and talks about our ideas for the event.
Usually, the hardest decision is where to hold the event. We all know how
much the brothers look forward to the event. I must say we feel a little bit of
pressure as planners. Successful planning results in a successful event.
Unos restaurant in Kenmore Square was chosen as the venue for this
semesters iBanquet. Newly initiated pledges and active brothers arrived
wearing their finest spring attire. A private room in the upper part of the
restaurant was closed of for the event. The room was decorated in blue and
gold decorations the fraternitys theme colors. Gifts for the seniors lined
the windowsill and paper plate awards were scattered on tables as place
settings for the recipients.
Brian Boman, the chapters president, begins the event with words of
appreciation and excitement. I am excited to be here with all of you for the
spring semesters iBanquet. A warm welcome to our brothers, and
congratulations to our newly initiated pledges! Tonight we celebrate our
chapter, our successful service events this semester, and our dedicated

community. Now lets eat! The speech was an appropriate way to set the
celebratory mood for the event.
The brothers spent the new few hours eating, talking, and laughing. A
buffet of delicious food was available during the course of the event. Pizza
and wings were favorites of the attendees. Everyone was reminiscing on
memorable events and services that occurred over the course of the
semester.
I couldnt be more excited about becoming a new brother, expresses
newly initiated pledge Kylie McCarthy, This is my first event since being
initiated as an official brother. I cannot wait for future events and what other
great experiences I will have in the future with this fraternity.
