Every class that I've taken thus far has a purpose. I plan on using information from each class in
order to excel in my desired profession. I decided to take business, public affairs and minor in
communication because believe each class can contribute by giving me enough of an understanding
on how to be useful in a variety of things. The business classes have taught me how to effectively
budget and be an outstanding lewder in the workplace. My public affair classes are teaching me the
significance of good PR and how to use it to my advantage in marketing a franchise. Mass
Communication is important in the workplace, and its shoeing me the necessary tools on how to
communicate with my peers, the media and society. As a IDS student, I haven't specialized in one
particular field, however I do plan on attending graduate school and mastering in business
administration. I think with that degree and a degree in IDS, I will be the perfect candidate for
administrator on a sports team.
Entering the interdisciplinary studies major I knew exactly what I wanted. Having an understanding of
what makes you successful in the sports management field has been the driving force behind my
scheduling. I wanted to take this opportunity to learn how to think like a businessman, a
spokesperson and also a lawyer. Throughout these past few semesters I believe I have effectively
done that. Unfortunately, due to some requirements, I haven't been able to take all the classes I've
desired to, but I have no regrets in taking the classes that I did take in their replacement. While
setting my schedule, I've never selected any "filler" classes. Whether they were my first, second or
third selection, each class I've taken, I have put in much thought into how these specific classes can
benefit me in regards to my career aspirations. If there were any classes I felt wouldn't help me
significantly enough, I passed on it. I'm happy with the classes I've taken, and I'm extremely grateful
for the knowledge I've gained from them.
