Skittles Project Part III

Confidence Intervals
A confidence interval is a range of numbers in which there is a probability of a specified value
being located.

99% confidence interval estimate for the proportion of yellow candies:

216.68 < P < 217.32

95% confidence interval estimate for the true mean number of candies per bag:
59.31 < u < 62.24
98% confidence interval estimate for the standard deviation of the number of
candies per bag:
2.126 < o < 4.9

Hypothesis Tests
A hypothesis test is meant to develop hypotheses about populations through data gathered from
samples.
See work paper
Use a 0.05 significance level to test the claim that 20% of all Skittles candies are red:
See work paper

For interval estimates and hypothesis tests, there needs to be enough information given in order
to solve problems. Both sections, the confidence intervals and hypothesis tests, gave a sufficient
amount of information to solve the problems. I believe I could have made several errors,
because I wasnt entirely sure whether I was supposed to use all 1094 candies for n, or 18 bags
of candies for n. It was easy to get data mixed up.
