The United States ranked as number one oil consuming country


- In 2012, consumed 18.5 barrels of oil per day, equivalent to 20% of worlds
total oil consumption
- In 2005, the highest oil consumption in US occurred at 20.8 barrels of oil per
day
China ranked as number two oil consuming country
- In 2012, consumed 10.3 barrels of oil per day, equivalent to 11.7% of the
world's total oil consumption
