Some songs and information about famous folk band
Mumford and Sons, definitions and reasons for allusion and
intertextuality, Platos classic works are well known to most
western scholars
Students are scaffolded into using a reading strategy in
which they critically analyze and interpret multi-modal text
(song) to develop a thesis statement. Students will construct
deeper meaning by studying allusion between the song and a
classic text. Theyll generate a new view of the modern song
by putting the classic text into conversation with it.
Ideas presented by groups in class and written on the board.
Teacher converses with students throughout class to monitor
and guide their learning.
