Simple Present Tense (Timpul Prezent) se contruiete de la forma de

baz a verbului (infinitiv fr to).
De exemplu, infinitivul cu to verbului a lucra este to work ,iar
infinitivul fr to este work. Pentru toate persoanele n afara de
persoana a III-a singular forma afirmativ a timpului prezent este
work. Pentru persoana a III-a se adaug terminaias.

Terminaia s de la persoana a III-a singular poate avea diferite forme.

Dac verbul se termin cu vocala o se va adugaes, ca de exemplu
verbul go care la persoana a III-a singular este goes sau verbul do
care la persoana a III-a singular este does.
Dac verbul se termin cu ch, -sh, -x, -ss, se va aduga totodat
es. De exemplu:
He teaches (teach a preda)
She washes (wash a spla)
He kisses (kiss a sruta)
She fixes (fix a rezolva, a repara)

Forma interogativ
Forma interogativ a verbului la Present Simple Tense se
construiete cu ajutorul verbului Do, sau Does (pers III-a singular) i
forma de baz a verbului de conjugat .
Toate ntrebrile n limba englez se mpart n ntrebri Yes/No i Wh.
Yes/No nu au cuvinte interogative i la acestea se poate rspunde cu
DA sau NU. ntrebrile Wh- ncep cu nterogaiile: when, what, why,
where, how, how much, how many...

Verbul prezent se folosete pentru:

1. Aciunile care se repet (obiceiuri, obinuine)
I get up at 6 oclock. - Eu m trezesc la ora 6.
She wears uniform at work. - Ea poart uniform la lucru.
The English drink tea at 5 oclock in the afternoon. Englezii beau ceai la ora 5 dup masa.
n acest sens pot fi utilizate i adverbele de frecven (care precizeaz
ct de des se petrece o aciune). Acestea sunt:

Adverbele always, usually, often, sometimes, never se aeaz

naintea verbului principal la forma afirmativ. Every day, every
month, twice a year... de cele mai multe ori se aeaz la sfritul
propoziiei.
I always go to school at 8 oclock in the morning. - ntotdeuna
merg la coal la ora 8 dimineaa.
She usually drinks tea in the evening. - Ea deobicei bea ceai
seara.
We never eat in the living room. - Noi niciodat nu mncm n
camera de zi.
2. Adevruri generale. De exemplu:
People change money in banks. - Oamenii i schimb banii la
banc.
A day has 24 hours. - Ziua are 24 de ore.
The Earth goes around the Sun. - Pmntul se rotete n jurul
soarelui.
The Sava flows into the Danube. - Rul Sava se vars n
Dunre.

3. Caracteristicile subiectului:
He speaks English very well. - El vorbete engleza foarte bine.
My sister plays the piano. - Sora mea cnt la pian.
