UWRT 1102 Final Reflection
28 April 2015
This class has taught me many lessons that I will definitely take on to
my future studies, but the two most important ones are the ability to do
productive research and being able to think more critically. At the beginning
I had absolutely no idea what I was going to choose for the topic of my
project and definitely was not able to open my mind and think about the
possibilities. Little did I know that the assignments that we were assigned
were all in cognizance within trying to get us to select our topic. The most
effective assignment was the interest inventory because it enabled me to
choose topics from a list that I am interested in, so it served as an assistant
to me finding my topic. There were more assignments that also helped
strengthen my interest in the topic which I noticed started to fade midway
through. Assignments like the double entry journal, this one forced me to
dive deeper and look into quotes pulled for the text of my articles and I was
able to regain my interest by reading some very interesting facts about
holograms like the fact that they can serve as a 3-D copy machine for a
human skeletal system. Therefore; I would definitely say that this class has
definitely showed me ways and steps I can take to get my mind to think
right.

I without a doubt feel that what I learned in this class will benefit my
education at UNCC because I learned how to be organized and I was taught
that to get to something great there has to be a process. I now know that I
cant just write a paper in two days and feel confident about it, there has to
be a preceding process that leads up to a final product. For example, all of
the double entry journals and the prezi that I had to do were all a stepping
stone to me learning as much as I could about my topic in preparation to
writing the best paper possible. To be honest, there is nothing more I wish I
could have learned in this class because it really exceeded my expectations.
Coming into this class I thought it was going to be just another boring class,
but I came out of every Monday night class feeling motivated and eager to
follow continue my academic career. I also feel that so many life lessons
were taught unintentionally, like helping me be more organized.
If I were to give myself a grade in this course, I would give myself an A.
I feel that is an extremely fair evaluation because I have done absolutely
everything that this class has required and more. We were only
recommended to do a double entry journal for each source after the first one
(which was required), but I went ahead and did one for each source. If I
could start over I would choose to take the course seriously right from the
get-go rather that two weeks in.
