Job Description Analysis

How would my duties change to reflect a service model of support to buildings and
administrators?

Previous Job Focus


Goal: To assist administration, staff and students
in identifying and implementing technology needs
that meets the needs of districts overall vision for
technology in our buildings. Oversee, support,
maintenance, repairs and all other aspects of
technology upkeep and execution of technology
advancement.
Static, one-time listing of duties
Direct duties and functions of program including
eSchoolPLUS, BusinessPLUS, Edline, and all
other applications
Train elementary and secondary office staff to use
eSchoolPLUS
Implement and direct installation and use of all
software applications

Supervision and evaluation of IT staff using


existing rubric
Communication amongst other programs and
departments to identify existing technology needs
and projected implementation

New Focus
Goal: To assist and provide ongoing support to
building level administration through the five
pillars of Assistance Relationships for the purpose
of identifying and implementing technology needs
to support the improvement of instruction and
student growth.
Annual re-visit of job duties based upon annual
goals
Continue as listed with the addition of being
intentional about seeking training and support
needs from staff while in buildings
Visit to schools includes check in with office staff
as a follow up to training and implementation
Assess new computing technologies and the
feasibility of system enhancements to determining
potential value for the district.
Create project plans using templates/tools and
include input and feedback from building
administrators, teachers, staff and community
members about use of applications
Use Danielson framework and collaborate with
team members to identify existing data points
which can be used to monitor or measure progress
as a team; and include data within
Use DLT to identify new technology needs and
establish project plans in advance initiative.
Feasibility, cost, charter identified in advance.
Joint work Identify technologies which impact
building work to improve instruction and student
achievement through RTI, Common Core, Core
Skills, TPEP
Modeling - Training/facilitation to building
administrators on how to use technologies to
support core mission so they can lead the work.
Developing Tools Identify and create tools to
support building leadership and the work of
teachers in their classroom
Differentiation Personalization of training
needs of stakeholders based upon needs
assessment
Brokering Resources Provide leadership to
identify which technology tools will be used for
the purpose of the primary mission
