Writing Changes Lifes
In Writing to Change the World, Pipher interprets how writing could make a difference in
ones critical thinking and provide a well written paper. The ability to connect the basic tool to a
story, and research has shown that storytelling not only engages all its senses but rather trigger
activity on third person point of view. She expresses that the stories that one tell should be
understood and put into its perceptive. There are different features that could be helpful while
multitasking to get the work done. Positive changes happens for a reason and comes from decent
people acting properly towards their decisions. Our world is filled with different languages as
everyone doesnt speaks or have the same expectations. Language identify a persons personality,
structure themselves, and a different way of perception to their own community. Language has
its own power that greed its potential to destroy ones own ways of thinking and writing.
Peoples writing could change others lives, and possibly unite people or divide them among one
another.
Writing has its aspects where it could change people ways of living and thinking. Writing and
language has saved and taken lives that brought justice and confounded them by changing

the way people think and transform their definitions to its right and wrong. Martin Luther king
was a man locked up in solitary confinement trying his best to fight for equal rights and to stop
racism. King has set himself to fight for injustice to stop racism that was happening in summer of
1963, by participating in a peaceful anti-segregation marching on grounds that he did not
received a permit to speak his mind at the parade. King was criticized in many ways such as its
being not in his place as an outsider to interfere with the city of Birmingham, and he wanted to
be active in working for civil rights to get justice fairly. King pointed out how injustice anywhere
was a threat to justice everywhere because Negroes couldnt get a fair trial or freedom of speech
as he stated injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an
inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny, not having the opportunity
to expand their opinions and thoughts to fix the justice to improve without racism. Everyone has
the right to express their freedom of speech but in this case Americans did not like the Negros to
be part of their community and political bounds to be the same.
Baca expands his velocity to transform through language and expand his life before and
during his stay at the maximum security prison as he expressed his thoughts and feelings by
writing his memoir to proof there is always hope behind bars. Baca had an ability to write
passionate poetry while he was isolated most of the time. He writes poetry to prove that there is
always hope even in the most terrible ways the person is feeling, and to show how important it is
not to give up on themselves. Baca states that language gave me a way to keep the chaos of
prison at bay and prevent it from devouring me; it was a resource that allowed me to confront
and understand my past., it opened his mind up that writing into its language is anything to be
fear of but to confront his situations with compassionate and be patient for whats next in life.

Baca felt the inspiration on writing poetry because that was the only thing to help him live and
not give up being behind bars but to fight hard into its creativity. Baca is not directly stating a
purpose with his writing memoir, all he is doing is telling history but by doing that could change
people perceptive ways of thinking on how people speaks or write.
Bacas writing is influencing others by the same time that he was held incarcerated, his
culture background also shapes his poetry. His writing has reflects honesty of how life was in the
barrio. Baca is giving his community a voice in his writing, he felt like his writing was different
from an academic writing because not everyone includes details about their personal lives and
rather leave it to the side. Baca had illustrates a culture tends to forget his identity due to
necessitys and struggle to survive, and his poetry also looks at how life on the barrio from a
person outside perceptive. Bacas poem are consider those who could understand what Chicanos
work ethic and the unfairness of the American dream that occurred while being in prison. Baca
includes a poem called, which illustrates this perceptive too much of a good thing snows been
melting too soon passing the Rio grenade every day, I note water level is high, Baca writing
was communicating the collective experiences of the inmates in prison, because most inmates
like Baca were uneducated, working poor families and most were illiterate, and the ability to be
heard was extremely valuable to him. The people in the communities were not able to speak out
but Baca had continue to use his writing as an outlet to encourage them, by sharing the
unfairness, and the victories within their communities would help people to fight for whats right.
King uses credibility to support his claims and views but his emotional strategies is what
really persuades the readers to understand his perceptive of his word with unjust segregation

laws. King writing style has motivated many people around ones country, and the ways King
uses a variety of writing or appeals to illustrate his thoughts. Three writing style that King uses
are ethos, pathos, and logos. The ethos writing style is used to appeal to the readers is sense of
ethics. By describing the rights and wrongs in situations can be used to influence the reader and
persuade them to understand the authors point of view. Pathos is a writing style that is used to
grab the reader emotionally and making them feel sympathetic to the authors point of view.
Logos is a writing style that uses logical statements to give the reader facts and point out
viewpoints by a way of common senses. King uses all of these writing techniques to help the
readers understand his actions and reveal his reasoning behind them. Though these writing
techniques are used mostly to persuade readers, its obvious that King doesnt want to do that.
King seems to attempt to open the readers eyes to the problems of ones everyday life,
encourage them to take action and stand up for themselves.
Finally, Pipher, Baca and King was trying to persuade their readers that writing could change
someone life by expressing their thoughts and minds out to be heard so they wont feel unequal.
The experiences that all three authors been through and could change people ways of thinking
and writing strategies. Understanding the authors point of view and gaining ideas and thoughts
from their great work is incredible. Not knowing what to think about what our country is made of
or how it is destroying many things by not being understandable to those who are not aware of
problems. The potential that each author had was motivating and gives people enthusiasm to
continue to strive for success.
