First Time at Arby's

In the year 1906 as a worker of this packing company Ive decided to become a vegetarian after
seeing the sicken conditions that our meat is process in. For the first few days that I started there
I found it intolerable to work there I wondered how could someone actually work in a place like
this. After my first week or 2 I thought that it wasnt so bad after you get past the smell, all the
dead animals around you & the rodents its not so bad & the pay is decent enough to get by at
least. It was a good job after a while when I got use to it but then I noticed how some of the meat
had gone wrong so I asked what should I do with it & I was told to just grab a few chemicals
from our maintenance guy & put it all over the meat so it wont seem to be spoiled. Once I
grabbed those chemicals I got about 5 of them & instantly I remembered the days I spent in
school & realized how dangerous & hazardous these chemicals are to ones health. I went to ask
my supervisor about this he said just do it no ones needs to know about it.I quiz after 2 months
when I saw some people dying from eating some really bad meat after this experience Im never
eating another piece of meat again.
So according to the meat inspection act of 1906 we finally learn about how the meat industry
finally got a few regulations on how the meat should be handled safely & in sanitary conditions
so theres no risk of disease. Before this act came into play people were geting very sick & in
some cases even dying. So when this came into play it made a great impact stopping or at least
decreasing the number of people dying or getting sick. According to the article 100 Years Later
the Food Industry is Still the The Jungle, author Adam Cohen argues that in recent years, we
have been moving in the wrong direction. I believe that Cohen means that even though weve
made a significant change in the food industry that we could have been further along on the road
of stopping diseases that are food borne. . For example in the article Impact of internet posting
of Restaurant Inspection Scores on Critical Violations By Blake Waters In paragraph 1 it is
stated that foodborne disease result in 9.4 million illnesses, 55,961 hospitalization, and 3,151
deaths annually in the U.S. Also in the same paragraph how it was reported that 40.22 people
per 100,000 reported that they got a foodborne illness when the estimated for that year was only
36.67(quoted from Impact of internet posting of restaurant inspection scores on critical
violations) which proves Cohens point on how much further we could have been along in the
food industry.
In the early 1900s & late 1800s a great impact on americanization occurred as in a huge
increase of immigrants from a variety of different cultures came to america. This had a great
impact on the food in our everyday menus. You can go just about to any restaurant & youll find
some food from a different part of the world. For example break sticks that can be found in so
many places are from italy or panda express which has mainly chinese food.
So in Fast Food Nation Erie Schlosser writes that the safety of the food restaurant depends
upon the workers in its kitchen.(222) In this quote I believe that he means that its the staffs duty

to keep their work stations clean to protect the customers. This means a lot since there are many
factors that come into play when people are handling your food such as are they wearing
gloves, are they sick , do they wash their hands before preparing your food, is the kitchen clean.
those are some of the few factors that come into play when an employe is handling your
food.Another thing that can also affect it is the meat even though weve had some precautions
made on stopping the production of spoiled meat some of it still slips by us so they also need to
check if all the ingredients they are using arent spoiled & are safe enough to eat.
Some major impacts & changes have been created through the last 100 years but one of the more
recent breakthroughs in seeing the cleanness of a restaurants or how well the restaurant is in
general is online. In a modern day world consumed by technology we use it to share information
& share or recommend something even the smallest post is seen by possibly hundreds & has the
capability of being seen by millions around the world so your opinion can be spread quickly.
This has had a major effect on the food industry in a way that if one person has a bad experience
they can talk about how bad the restaurant is online & advertise against it to stop people from
going. Then again on the bright side it could be free advertisement for a restaurant that is very
good with its customers.
The top five observable food safety regulations that Los Angeles, county requires
restaurants to follow are knowledge of running a restaurant, healthy employees, time and
temperature control and consumer advisors. The regulation that should always be in place to
protect the customer is the healthy employees therefore we can guarantee that our food will only
rely on how clean the establishment is.
On a fine afternoon I went go visit arbys with my 2 partners martin & oscar.Ive never been to
arbys but this experience has made me want to come back for more. This was honestly one of
the most cleanest restaurants I have ever been to. It met all the requirements & it was an amazing
experience.
So other things I observed in arbys was how clean their bathrooms were & stocked with soap &
with paper towels. The employes were incredibly nice & so thorough with how they cleaned the
tables.
In arbys they took all precautionary measures & was one of the best around as I have
read online & I was not dissapointed. I found this restraunt to be perfect with only few
flaws which could be easily fixed & were fixed while I was there.
Some factor that come into play when im choosing what restraunt I want to eat are
recommendations. Another think that helps me are online reviews because I like listening to
what someone since they have been there & can tell me what's good or bad about the restraunt I
am visiting
After all the Observation I've made I would really recommend going to this Arby's. The food was
great the service great employes were the best. The food I definetly recommended beside being
the cleanest & friendliest there food was amazing. Over all I found literally found nothing wrong

with this place if I had to choose quickly on a restrurant I would pick this one.
