Our Solar System

Please research and find out more about the planets in our solar system. Please
include where you found the information.
Sun
The sun is a common middle-sized
yellow star, which scientists have
named Sol, after the ancient Roman
name it was born in a vast cloud of gas
and dust around 5 billion years ago. The
sun is by far the largest object in the
solar system.98% of all mater within
the solar system is found within the
sun. The light from the sun can reach
the earth in only 8 minutes this is called
the speed of light the sun is nearly 93
million miles (approx.145 million km)
from the earth

Mercury
Mercury means an observation of the
sun situation.it is too small than any
other planet. It is Heavy, Because of its
nearness in space to the Sun. Mercury's
evolution took a slightly different
course than the other planets and it is
the closest planet to the Sun. Because this

planet lies so close to the Sun, and as a

result somewhat near to Earth and it is
visible to observers on Earth in a late
evening or early morning sky

Please research and find out more about the planets in our solar system:
Jupiter
Jupiter is until now the largest planet in
our solar system. That the earth could
fit inside Jupiter more than 1000 times.
Jupiter is a very stormy planet there is
storms found throughout the
atmosphere and most of the storms
seem to never end. The many different
clouds formations and storms in the
atmosphere also make Jupiter a very
colorful planet. Jupiter great red spot,
visible in the pictures above to the right
is where a giant storm has been raging
for at least 300 years. This red spot is
also called the eye of Jupiter. The red
spot is called the eye of Jupiter
because of its shape.

Venus
It was born in a vast cloud of gas and
dust around 5 billion years ago. These
vast nebulae are the birthplaces of all
stars. At the center an ever-growing
body of mass was forming. The sun is
by far the largest object in the solar
system.98% of all mater within the
solar system is found within the sun.

earth in only 8 minutes this is called the

Mars
If you weighed 70 pounds (32 kg) on
the Earth, you would weigh about 27
pounds (12 kg) on Mars. It is referred to
as the red planet. It has two moons
their names are (Deimons and Phobos)
and it excites scientists because its mild
temperament is more like the Earth's
than any of the other planets

Saturn
Saturn is similar to Jupiter but it is much
smaller, it is the second largest planet
in our solar system and it is the least
dense planet in our solar system Under
the clouds of methane, hydrogen and
helium, the sky gradually turns into
liquid until it becomes a giant ocean of
liquid chemicals. Saturn is most well
known for her rings. Saturn is a favorite
object for many observers. Its beautiful
rings are 169,800 miles wide (approx.
273,266 km

Neptune

Uranus
Uranus was the lord of the skies and
husband of Earth. He was also the king
of the gods until his son Saturn
overthrew Uranus is a gas giant.
Uranus also has rings.
But her rings do not stretch out as far
as the rings of Saturn.
The rings of Uranus are made up of
black dust particles and large rocks.
Uranus has (27 moons).
Ive of her moons are large and the rest
are smaller.
Since Uranus spins on its side, its rings
rotate up and over the planet instead of

Johann Galle discovered Neptune and

Heinrich Dearest in 1846.Neptune is
the smallest of the four gas giants in
our Solar System. Much like Saturn and
Uranus, Neptune's atmosphere contains
hydrogen, helium and methane.
Neptune has six rings, which circle the
planet. These rings are believed to be
fairly new. The rings are more irregular
than the rings of other planets. There
are areas of varying thickness
throughout the rings. Neptune has 13

moons that we know of. Because

Neptune is so far away, it is difficult to
see any of these worlds. There are
probably many more moons orbiting
this blue planet, which we have not yet

around the middle like the rings of

Saturn and Neptune

discovered.
