Reflection
Today was my first day at Buchanan Elementary School. I really enjoyed my
experience! I met my student, Naveah, and got to know her a little bit. At
first she was really quiet and didnt want to open up to me that much. But by
the end of our time together she was talking more than I was! The lesson I
taught today was on questioning. I used some of the pedagogical strategies
that we talked about in class such as asking questions before reading the
book and figuring out which questions were answered after reading the book.
We read a book about a little bear that was moving. This ended up being a
book she could relate to because she had just recently moved as well! After
she told me that she recently moved, I asked questions like, Did you feel
sad when you moved like the bear in the story did? Overall, my lesson went
really well and I enjoyed my time at Buchanan. Im excited to go next week
and find ways to improve my teaching!
