Summary:
Fiona is a very happy and sociable girl. She enjoys playing with other children
and adults. Fiona always wants to be right in the action and is always willing to
explore new things. Fiona meets all of the developmental screen of a 2 year old and
nearly meets all of the developmental screen of a 2 and a half year old. She has
excellent communication skills. She is constantly expanding her vocabulary and
uses several words in a sentence, she also uses her words to ask for help. She
would benefit from things in her environment being named as well as offering
extensions to what she says to further her communication even more. Fiona enjoys
large group time and enjoys joining in with singing songs, and doing the actions. I
suggest singing songs with her throughout the day. Fiona enjoys being physical, she
is able to run, and walk backwards or sideways while pulling a toy. I suggest
bringing her to a park so she can practice climbing, running, and jumping. Fiona has
started to sort things, I suggest supporting this by asking her to sort and match

items by shape, touch, colour, and size. Fiona often wants to do things by herself,
she is able to eat with utensils without spilling and can take off her own shoes,
socks and hat. I suggest allowing her to have independence by encouraging her to
get dressed, undressed, do household tasks, turn lights on and off, and open and
close doors by herself. Fiona is starting to learn about her feelings and the feelings
of others, use words to describe her own feelings and the feelings of others. Fiona
enjoys looking at books, provide her with plenty of reading materials and read
together with her. Fiona is increasing her fine motor skills, I suggest doing puzzles of
different sizes, textures, number of pieces, and colours as well as manipulating play
dough by poking, cutting, rolling or pressing it, using popsicle sticks, safety scissors
and cookie cutters. She enjoys doing art activities, she likes to colour. I suggest
allowing her to explore using markers, crayons, paint, or chalk to make a picture
and ask her to tell you about her picture when shes finished. Fiona enjoys playing in
the dramatic play center, she often plays with familiar objects such as cups and
books. Fiona is a normal developing girl.
