One-Step Equations Match-Up
TEKS: 6.10b, 7.11a
CCSS: 6.EE.2

Directions:

Teachers: Copy, laminate and cut out

the matching cards for each student,
pair of students or group.
Tip: Mount the equations on one
colored cardstock while the answers
are on another.
Students will need paper and pencil
or white board and dry erase marker
to solve problems as they work
through to match the cards.

Student Directions:

You will need paper and pencil or white board

and dry erase marker to solve problems.
Turn all cards over face down so that you see
the back of the card with equations in one area
and answers in another area. Player 1 will flip
over one equation and one answer card. Player
one will solve the equation card on their paper or
white board.
If the answer completes the equation, the
player keeps the card and play continues to
Player 2. If the answer does not complete the
equation, turn both cards face down and play
continues to Player 2.
