Bomber becoming one of

the family
By The Armenti Family
In late April 2014, we received some bad news
about a lump on my wifes (Emanuela) little finger.
She asked if I would consider getting the kids a

dog to keep their minds busy. At first, I thought I

would be betraying my old dog Bear that has
passed away a year earlier but told her I would
think about it. A few days later with Emanuela in
one ear and the kids in the other, I said OK!
Now, what kind of dog did we get? A puppy? An
older dog? Do we go to a Breeder or the Pound?
Emma started checking out breeds on the net
but I told them no Rotties as I could never replace
Bear.
We looked at everything from English Cocker
Spaniels to St Bernards (not your average lapdog).
Then my middle child Marco asked if we could get
a border dog at first we thought he wanted a
Border Collie, not realising he actually wanted a
Beagle, like on TVs Border Patrol.
Emma set about more research on the net and a
friend suggested looking at a Rescue Dog. After
having no joy we were given Sharons (of EBWA)
number and left a message. Whilst waiting to hear
back we found our boy BOMBER on the pet rescue
page. Whilst looking at him Sharon returned our
call and told us about a recent surrender
BOMBER what a coincidence.
After countless phone calls, Bomber was brought
over by Sharon and Mel and from the first day we

knew he was meant to be part of our family. We

have had good days and bad, and after working
through some issues, now Bomber is truly starting
to feel happy and show us his true self.
When it came to training, Bomber was a quick
learner. Sitting and waiting for his food, going to
his bed, letting us eat and so on. He is learning
how to come back when called and let other dogs
eat near him as well as letting the kids take his
toys.
Bomber has is own spot on the lounge and loves
cuddles from Emma and the kids but needs to
remember that my side of the bed is indeed MINE!
