This week in KG1


Dear Parents,
Last week the students continued learning about animal life
cycles and how they are similar or different to other animal life
cycles. We compared animals that come from an egg and
animals that have a live birth.
This week the students will have their formative assessment to assess
their understanding since the beginning of our current unit. Students
will have pictures of four different life cycles and they will separate
the pictures according to similarities and differences.

Math: In Math, we will be reviewing addition and we will be


beginning to learn the concept of subtraction. We will begin
with a group of objects and take away one of the objects
and then count to see how many are left.

Language: We will be focusing on the letter sound /Q/.


Suggested vocabulary: queen, quiet, quilt, quick. Students
will be practicing isolating and identifying the initial sounds of
/Q/ words.

New letter:Kaf &Laam and they will recognize new words related to this
letter.
