School Education Critical Issues


& Concerns

AP GER is below national average at all levels.


Many Out of School children and high drop
out
Low rates of transition and retention.
Many uneconomical and below average
schools.
Poor skills of students in English, Science and
Maths
Large number of teachers but less impact on
teaching-learning.
Poor performance of Municipal Schools.
Poor usage of IC&T tools.
Need for improving infrastructure.

Gaps identified and Action to be taken at the District level
Ensure Monthly MDM Review by District Collector
DEOs to reconcile component wise with MEOs and Treasuries from 7-15 th of the
Month. Pendency status at the treasury and bills to be produced at the treasury is
to be submitted to DSE.
Data regarding the no. of schools, correct number of children for MDM to be
assessed to enable correct food grain and CCH requirement by 30 th of every
Month.
Inspection reports of DEOs, ADs must be submitted regularly every month by 30 th.
MIS data is to be updated every month by 30th on MHRD. GoI Portal.
Plans underway to improve Quality of MDM delivery through improved supervision,
training of CCH, close monitoring of expenditure booking, etc.
