The scientific method is, conceptually, the systematic observation

of measurable phenomena, applied according to the principles of

hypothesis testing. At its very heart lays the precept of regression
toward the mean, based on repetition of such observations, to
thwart pollution by bias and chance. These principles extend
beyond the individual investigator, and scale to the scientific
community as a whole.
