A natural disaster is a major disaster resulting from natural processes of the Earth like earthquakes,

blizzards, tsunamis and tornadoes.

A natural disaster can cause serious consequences to the population affected by the disaster such as
property damage or even the lose of lives.
-Earthquake:
Is the result of a sudden release of energy in the Earth's crust that creates seismic waves. At the
Earth's surface the earthwake manifest itself by vibrations, shaking and displacement of the ground.
The earthquakes are usually caused by slippaged within geological faults but also by other events
such as volcanic activity and landslides
The earthquake itself rarely kills people by the secundary events that they trigger like building
collapse, fires or tsunamis are the ones responsable for the deaths of the population.
-Blizzard:
Are severe winter storms consisted by heavy snow and strong winds. The blizzard is a
meteorogical disaster.
-Tsunami:
Tsunamis can be caused by undersea earthquakes or by landslides. The tsunami is a hydrologinal
disaster.
-Tornadoes:
Is a violent rotating column of air that is connected with the surface of the earth and a
cumulonimbus cloud . Tornadoes are usually in the form of a condensation funnel. Most tornadoes
have wind speed of a 177 kilometers per hour and are approximately 80 meters long.
Some ways to try to minimize the consequences of natural disasters are better building construction,
safety systems, early warning and planning.
