Good morning
everyone. The paper I
just gave you is your
quiz; please hand it in
when you are finished.

The goal is to remind

students of what they
learned last class
and to prepare them
for what they will be
doing today.

Today the focus of the

lesson will be on three
point shooting.
Remember when
shooting use the
acronym BEEF to help
with your jump shot. B:
Balance, E: Elbow, E:
Eyes, F: Follow
through. Any questions
or concerns before we
start? Okay, I need the
coaches to come meet
with me and the fitness
trainers to take the
fitness plan and warm
up their teams.
Fitness plan and
coaching plan

10
minutes

Fitness plan: Students

will be in their
designated areas with
team and completing
their fitness plan.
Coaching Plan: the
Coaches will meet with
me while their teams
are going through the
fitness plan. I will go
over each drill that is
on in the coaching plan
so they know exactly
what to do when they
go to their teams.

Walk around and make

sure each team is
completing their fitness
plans.

The goal is for the

students to get
warmed up and
prepared to
participate in the
lesson.

Scrimmage

5
minutes

Students will play a 10

minute scrimmage
against the team they
share a court with. If a
team as more than 5
players they will have
to have substitutions
so everyone gets a
chance to play.

Everyone use this

scrimmage to warm-up
your basketball skills
and get loose.

This is for students to

get time to play a full
sided game.

Practice

20
minutes

Each coach will go

through the coaching
plan with their teams.

During the coaching

plan each team will do
as follows:

The goal is for

students to practice
their three point
shots to get them
ready to compete in
the application task.

Dribble up and down

(Baseline to half court)
x4 (Right hand twice
left hand twice)
Three man weave
5 free throws each
Play game of horse 3
pointers only
Three point
competition practice:
Students will do trial
rounds of the three
point completion to
prepare for the actual
competition.
Application Task

25
minutes

Each wave will be at a

hoop to compete in the
application task.

Okay, the object of this

application task is
shooting at each one of
the designated spots
on the three point line.
You shoot three balls
at each spot. The
number of shots made
will be recorded.

Closure

5
minutes

Students will be
sitting/standing at
baseline facing the
teacher.

Alright, good job today.

The goal is for

students to apply
what they have been
practicing to the
