Objectives:
Propose an ordinance, create a waste management plan and an advocacy video that will help in the
preservation of cultural heritage (Luneta Park) and promote awareness within the community.
Introduction:
Inadequate knowledge and lack of appreciation for ones heritage led to its destruction and bigger
world problems. As a LaSallian student, there are a lot of ways you can do to help preserve this
heritage and promote awareness within the community.
This could be in the form of an infomercial video, an awareness article (blog, forum article or an FB
post) or a letter to a government official and many others that will awaken and encourage people to
help you in this advocacy.
As a city councilor, you are fully aware of the current situation of Rizal Park due to improper waste
disposal. If this situation worsen, it will led to destruction of the famous heritage site of your city. As a
resolution you are planning to submit an ordinance on waste management planning and an advocacy
video that will help in the preservation of the said cultural heritage (Luneta Park). As a final output it
will be uploaded on a website and can be accessed by everyone.

Your output will be a website containing waste management plan, proposed city ordinance and an
advocacy video that will help in the protection and preservation of cultural heritage (Luneta Park).
Procedures:
Plenary session for all Grade 9 students.
o Introduction of GRASPS
o The Science Unit invited Ms. Monica Antonette Garcia-Gonzales, a landscape architect
under the Planning Division of National Parks and Development Committee last August
27, 2014 to give a talk about proper waste management.
For Social Studies, city ordinances were introduced to students in order to expose them of its
different parts, how it is prepared and implemented within the community or municipality.

Materials:
Mobile Learning Device (iPad)
iMovie iPad Application
Other necessary documents and informations that will be included in the website.
New Concepts/Skills Learned:
The students were exposed to on what an ordinance is, how it is being done and implemented within
or outside the community. As they learn about these new things they were to come up with their own
ordinance that will promote protection and preservation our own cultural heritage.
In addition to this, the Grade 9 students also made their own Waste Management Plan. The plan aims
to develop a concrete ways on how to manage properly the garbage and other waste materials found
in Luneta. Through this plan we would be able to help preserve a heritage that remind us our own
history.
Moreover, the students were able to make an advocacy video in relation to protection and
preservation of cultural heritage and keeping these places clean and garbage free. This task in English
was designed to let students master and apply the skill of narrative writing.
Under Computer class, students were tasked to create their own website wherein all the outputs from
the three subjects will be compiled and uploaded.
Values Acquired/LGP:
1) Challenge learners to realize their full potential by promoting critical and creative thinking, selfknowledge and self-mastery.
