Audiencedemographics

IntheABSsurvey,SquareEyesandCouchPotatoes(2012)[1],itwas
discoveredthatatleast80%ofbothboysandgirlsaged514inAustralia
participatedinwatchingTVorotherscreenbasedactivities(includingmobiles

3.4.

Audienceexpectations

Itisassumedthatthisappwillbeusedwiththeexpectationofeducation
throughinteractiveorvisualbasedcomponents.Theeasiestwaytoachieve
thisisthroughaconsistentandclearuseofdesignthroughouttheapp,with
clearwaysofnavigatingtheappsmultiplecomponents.
Theappmustalsobeaccommodatingtoallowfortheprimaryusers(children)
undertheexpectationthattheymaynotknowthepurposeoftheappwhen
initiallyopeningtheapp.Thismeansthattheappmustofferclearvisual

toquicklyidentifyandholdobviousmeaning.
Astheaudienceisexpectedtobeyoung,itmustbeassumedthattheywill
