Inbiologywelearnedaboutmanythings,butwehadaessentialquestionforeach

quarter.Oneofmyessentialquestionswerewhatdoesitmeantobealive?Firstmyclass
learnedaboutwhatbeingalivemeans.Westartedoffwithexplainingwhatacell.Acellisthe
basicunitofstructureandfunctioninalllivingorganisms.Everyhumanstartsoffasacell
thatgrowstooffspring.Ourclasslearnedavarietyofwords.Thenwestartedtalkingabout
howdoesnaturesurvive.Homeostasisismaintainingastableinternalenvironmentmeaning,
adaptingtowhereyoursurrounding.WealsolearnedaboutEukaryoticandProkaryoticcells.
Prokaryotecellsareonecelledorganismwithnonucleus.Eukaryoticcellsareorganismswith
cellsthathaveanucleus.Nucleusisorganellecontainingthegeneticmaterial,andisalso
whereyourDNAisstored.UshumansareEukaryoticbecausehaveanucleusandweaslo
containDNA.LookingbackatmyentireyearofbiologyclassthetopicIstruggledwithwere
Heredity.Hereditymeansthepassingonofphysicalormentalcharacteristicsgenetically
fromonegenerationtoanother.WhilelearningIstruggledwithtryingtodopunnettsquares
whicharewhenyoutrytofindoutwhataoffspring'straitswillbe.Biologyclasswillimpact
myfuturebecausealltheknowledgeIgainedfromthisclassisgoingtohelpmemakemore
intelligentchoicesinmylife.ThisimpactsmyunderstandingoftherealworldbecauseI
knowhowhumansreproducehowpassedongeneticsandmanymore.IfeellikeIammore

preparedtomoveasasciencestudentsigetthebasicconceptsofbiologythestudyoflife.I
wouldlovetoextendtheknowledgeIknowaboutbiologyoranyothertypeofsciencecourse
becauseitisveryinterestinglearningaboutlifeandchemicals,space,time,adpatuionandetc.
