Instructional Strategies/ Procedure for the Class:
Phase 1: Motivator/ Introduction / Review / Warm-up --- The Beginning (Engagement)
The class will begin with each individual receiving a sheet of quotations from the play in which they must give the
location, character saying it, meaning, and literary devices that it contains. They must do this without the use of their
text.
Time: 5 Minutes

Phase 2: Knowledge Content (Tasks and Activities) Supporting Learning --- The Middle (New Content)

The students can then work as a group and share their answers to one of the quote designated to that group. One
student will be a speaker and share their answer with the rest of the class, another will be the recorder and write down
the answer on the given sheet, and the other two students will be supporters. Once all of the groups have had a chance to
present their answers, I will provide the answers on the SmartBoard for them to copy down.

Time: 25 Minutes

Phase 3: Thinking (Activities) - Engage Students in Higher Order Tasks --- The Thinking (Application)

Next, the students will listen to a series of audio recordings for scenes 1, 2, and 3 of Act 4. Before each recording, I will do
a short reading of a summary of the scene to provide context for the recordings.

Time: 10-15 Minutes

Phase 3: Closure Reflection / Assessment / Review / Evaluation --- The End

They will be provided with a question sheet for the scenes they just heard, and be given the rest of class to ask questions
about the test as well as time to work on the questions. They will be evaluated on the upcoming test.

Time: 15-20 Minutes

Differentiation: Audio is used to help guide the students through the text.
Teaching Method and Strategies: A review of important quotations is used to help prepare them for the
upcoming test.
