School open evening
June 11th

Booklists for every class will be available for viewing on the


school website during the month of June.

Gemma Hanlon memorial blitz


June 16th

The new Junior Infants will visit the school at 2.00pm on June
17th. There will be a meeting for the parents at 730pm on
June 17th also

School sports day

5th and 6th class fundraiser On May 27th the 5th and 6th
class organised a 'Jumbo' sale of goods for the entire school
community. It was a huge success. They received a great
response and covered the costs of their trip raising 1170euro.
Well done to all involved. A special thank you to all the
parents who contributed to the sale with hot food, drinks, fruit
and cakes!

School open evening Our school open evening took place


on June 10th. All classes participated in singing and music
performance. We were blessed with the weather on our side
this year. The school would like to say a massive thank you to
all the parents who helped out making teas/coffees on the
night. They contributed hugely to the night.

English scheme prize Well done Ms.Niamh O Rourke who


recenlty won an entire English scheme for the whole school
(Liteacy Leap) at a recent folens exhibition!

School tours- Students recently received notes about their school tour payments. The
parents association have contributed towards the tour to keep the costs down,
Junior and Senior Infants - Russborough House June 18th
1st - 4th class - Tayto Park Ashbourne June 19th
5th -6th class - Viking Splash tour - June 18th
Hip Hop and Skip n Rope - On May 21st Nikki and Favio tutored all of the classes in hip hop.
The children really enjoyed these classes. Nikki and Favio take a class in Baltinglass every
week and will start the next term in September for any children interested.

Swimming - Swimming classes will finish up on June 22nd


Music Generation Music generation has ceased for this term. New lessons will begin next
term. Any new parents interested in enrolling their child in guitar, piano or violin lessons
should contact the office.
Book list All classes have now received booklists. The booklists will also be up on the
school website this month.
Classes This forthcoming year will see an increase in our overall numbers. Parents with
children in classes that will be split in September have been notified of what classes their
children will be placed in. The following is an outline of the class groups next year: Junior
Infants; Senior Infants & 1st class; 2nd& 1/2 3rd ;1/2 3rd 4th&1/2 5th; 1/2 5th & 6th class.
These class groups are now final.
End of year Reports Student reports will be sent out to each family next week. Can parents
make sure they have sent a self addressed envelope and stamp to the teacher/ office as
soon as possible.
Sports day will take place for all students on June 16th weather permitting.
Dunlavin camera club are having a photograph exhibition in the 'men's shed' Kennedy's
old shop in Dunlavin during the arts festival. If anyone is interested can they contact Colette
on 0851751627
