To Whom It May Concern,
This letter is in reference to Ben Slusher who is seeking employment with your organization.
I have known Ben professionally for two years. For the past year, we were teaching partners in 8th grade
self contained classrooms. Due to layoffs during the 2014-2015 school year, many of us were reassigned.
Ben made the move from first grade to 8th grade. He worked as easily with energetic first graders as he
did with the myriad ups and downs of middle schoolers. Ben developed a friendly rapport with the eighth
graders while maintaining a classroom environment of respect, fair discipline, and high standards. He
communicated well with parents on an individual basis as well as through social media. Because of his
athletic background and coaching role, he easily connected with the many students who are sports
oriented, but also applied those coaching techniques in the classroom teaching universal skills such as
drive, perseverance, and getting along with others.
As a teaching partner, I found Ben to be flexible, resourceful, and dependable. Since we were both new to
eighth grade, we often planned together and shared resources. Ben was always willing to assist anyone
and was especially helpful with technology issues. His work ethic shows his dedication to our students
and school.
I highly recommend Ben for employment in any setting. His time at Camden-Frontier has proved that he
has the capabilities of working with a wide range of students as well as being adaptable to changing work
conditions. He certainly has the work ethic, skills, and qualities that will make him an asset to any
