A close look at which is the better

coating system for chemical and corrosion resistance
hese are the two systems most commonly used in the CPI, oil and gas industries. Both are specified for their combination of corrosion resistance and
chemical resistance. But there are important differences between the two coatings
that are frequently misunderstood or simply not known. They may surprise you...

EM Everslik 1201/1301

Xylan 1212/1213

1. Application: Must apply 1201 three

times and 1301 three times, then flash
(air-dry) for 15 minutes each time to
achieve desired film thickness (.7-.9
mils).

1. Application: Apply 1212 once and

1213 once for desired film thickness
(.7-.9 mils). No flash required.

2. Maintenance: Coatings settle quickly,

require constant remixing.

2. Maintenance: Coatings settle slowly,

only require occasional remixing.

3. Oven time: Sixty minutes at 350F.

3. Oven time: Fifteen minutes at 400F.

4. Total cure time: One hour 45 minutes.
